Zack Zhiqiang Guo, PhD (he/him/his)

Dr. Zack Guo is a Principal Scientist at Merck & Co., with over 15 years of expertise in drug product development. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in projects ranging from early-stage clinical programs to commercialization. Dr. Guo specializes in the development of various oral dosage formulations and innovative technologies.
He is particularly passionate about enabled formulations for human dosage development, including spray drying, hot melt extrusion, and nanoparticle formulation. His research interests encompass solid dispersion formulation development for bioavailability enhancement, as well as controlled release and extended release drug products. Additionally, Dr. Guo investigates peptide and oligonucleotide delivery, drug product stability characterization, and the application of predictive technologies for formulation performance enhancement.
He has authored over 50 journal publications and patent applications in pharmaceutical R&D. Dr. Guo actively contributes to the AAPS community through his volunteer work and has served in the IQ Consortium Peptide group.
