Kashappa Goud Desai, PhD

Dr. Desai serves as an Associate Director in the Department of Drug Product Development at GSK in Collegeville. He brings two decades of combined industry and post-doctoral R&D experience to his role. His areas of expertise include protein formulation development, drug product manufacturing process development and validation, combination product development, platform processes, new technology evaluation and implementation, predictive model development, project management, and regulatory submissions.

Dr. Desai holds both BS and MS degrees in Pharmacy and a PhD in Food Technology. His innovative and impactful research contributions have received international recognition, earning him prestigious awards such as the Outstanding Consumer and Diversified Products Award from the Controlled Release Society and the Outstanding PhD Student Award from the National Research Foundation of South Korea. Additionally, Dr. Desai has been honored with multiple employee recognition awards from GSK, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze accolades, highlighting his exceptional creativity and contributions.

In addition to his professional and research achievements, Dr. Desai has significantly contributed to the academic literature. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, authored a book and a book chapter, and has been a frequent presenter at numerous conferences.
