Dr. Robert “Rusty” Arnold is a Professor in the Department of Drug Discovery and Development at Auburn University’s Harrison College of Pharmacy, where he also serves as Director of Research Development and Support. He holds adjunct appointments in Pathobiology at Auburn and in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Georgia. Additionally, he is a Senior Scientist in Experimental Therapeutics at the UAB O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Arnold earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University at Buffalo and completed postdoctoral training in cancer therapeutics and non-invasive imaging at UB and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Institute. Prior to academia, he worked in Liquid and Parenteral Formulations R&D at Wyeth-Ayerst Research. His research aims to improve the treatment of aggressive, metastatic cancers by optimizing dosing schedules and developing multifunctional nanomedicines. His lab uses a multi-omics approach to study drug exposure profiles and engineer targeted therapies. His work is supported by the NIH, NSF, and other public and private sponsors. Dr. Arnold has been active in AAPS since 1998 and currently serves as vice chair of the NANO Community and learning opportunities manager for the PPDM Community
