Dr. Ruwini D. Rajapakha (PhD, PMP), Postdoctoral fellow, Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute.
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute in Albuquerque, NM, specializing in Immunology and Large Molecule Bioanalytical Chemistry. With a strong foundation in scientific research, I lead independent studies, develop assays, and analyze complex data to advance biomedical science.
Previously, I served as a Research Project Lead and Scientist at RingIR Inc., where I led innovative projects using cavity ring-down spectroscopy for rapid hazardous chemical detection and breath-based COVID-19 diagnostics. I have authored peer-reviewed publications, contributed to patent applications, and mentored both staff and interns.
I earned my Ph.D. from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, focusing on nonlinear spectroscopy and photophysical dynamics, where I was recognized for academic excellence and high student satisfaction. Earlier in my career, I taught chemistry at the University of Ruhuna in Sri Lanka.
I am an active member of several professional societies, including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), the American College of Toxicology (ACT), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). These affiliations reflect my commitment to scientific advancement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous professional development.
