Graduate Research Assistant
University of Utah, College of Pharmacy
Salt Lake City, Utah
I am a graduate researcher in the Department of Molecular Pharmaceutics at the University of Utah, with a strong foundation in clinical pharmacy and translational cancer research. My academic journey began with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, during which I contributed to improving patient care by helping minimize hospital-acquired infections and mentoring pharmacy students in clinical settings. I later served as the lead pharmacist on the ANTICOV clinical trial, gaining firsthand experience in clinical research operations in resource-limited settings.
Currently, my research focuses on designing synthetic glycosaminoglycan-based therapeutics to overcome therapy resistance in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and other solid tumors. I integrate my clinical insight with synthetic chemistry, drug delivery, and tumor biology to develop targeted, multi-functional agents that modulate the tumor microenvironment and disrupt key oncogenic pathways. My long-term goal is to transition into industry, where I aim to lead the development of innovative, mechanism-driven therapies for hard-to-treat cancers.
