Angela Shar is currently a first-year PhD student in Dr. Mei He's lab at the University of Florida's MD/PhD program, where she focuses on extracellular vesicles as well as tissue engineering and scaffolding. She graduated from the University of Central Florida, with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. There, she filed a US Patent “Ultrasound Responsive Nanobubbles Devices and Methods”, completed an Honors Undergraduate Thesis, contributed as a co-author for “Principles of Human Organs-on-Chips”, and published “A Novel Ultrasound-Mediated Nanodroplet-Based Gene Delivery System for Osteoporosis Treatment” to Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology, and Medicine. She has obtained over 10 research awards and scholarships, including the prestigious Astronaut and Goldwater Scholarships.
