Senior Research Scientist
Certara
Sheffield, England, United Kingdom
Bryan Holland, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Scientist within the mechanist modelling group of Certara Predictive Technologies, where he has helped develop the first ocular module used in the Simcyp simulator. He holds two BSc from the University of British Columbia, one in Physics and the other a combined major in Computer Science and Molecular Biology. His graduate work at the University of Guelph in Computational Biophysics focused on non-equilibrium free-energy, diffusion and permeability method development for use in molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of biological systems, with specific examples looking at permeation across lipid membranes. Postdoctoral training included MD investigations into enzyme substrate binding, and developing software for comparing experimental neutron and X-ray diffraction studies of lipid bilayers with MD simulations. Prior to joining Certara, he worked for 8 years as a Senior and Principal Scientist at Simulations Plus, helping to develop many of their products including GastroPlus.
