Maksim Khotimchenko, PhD, is a Principal Scientist in DMPK with the North American Scientific Advisory Group at Catalent Pharma Solutions. He has more than 25 years of experience in DMPK, ADME, and bioanalytical sciences, with a strong focus on pharmacokinetic modeling, quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP), preclinical drug evaluation, and formulation development. He applies PK/PD principles to optimize formulation strategies and candidate selection, and has led cross-functional programs from discovery through early clinical development and IND-enabling studies. His expertise includes PBPK modeling to guide oral drug formulation, predict absorption and food effects, and inform release profiles, enabling-technology choices, and first-in-human dose selection. He also integrates machine learning and computational methods into ADME prediction, pharmacokinetic modeling, and lead optimization. Dr. Khotimchenko is the author of more than 60 peer-reviewed publications. He holds a PhD in Pharmacology, has served in scientific and leadership roles in industry and academia, and has worked across a broad range of therapeutic modalities, including small molecules and biologics.
