Dr. Adeola Coker is the Assistant Dean and Chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of the Incarnate Word, Feik School of Pharmacy in San Antonio, TX. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biology from McPherson College and a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Following her postdoctoral training at the University of Kansas, she worked as a formulation scientist at Schering-Plough and Human Genome Sciences before transitioning to academia. In her current role, she fosters collaboration, supports faculty development, and advances excellence in teaching and research. She also mentors students from diverse backgrounds, helping them master essential pharmaceutics principles. Her research interests include protein formulation and stability, as well as pedagogical research on student learning and engagement. Besides AAPS, Dr. Coker is a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. She also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
