Senior Scientist
Boehringer Ingelheim
Dr. Minghe Li is a Senior Scientist in the Material and Analytical Sciences department at Boehringer Ingelheim, where he has contributed to innovative drug formulation development since January 2023. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Purdue University (2018-2022) under Professor Garth J. Simpson, specializing in nonlinear optics and analytical chemistry, following his B.S. in Analytical Chemistry from Nanjing University (2013-2017). Dr. Li's expertise spans advanced microscopy techniques including cryogenic electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and fluorescence imaging, with a particular focus on developing novel analytical methods for pharmaceutical applications. His research has resulted in groundbreaking contributions to photothermal microscopy, fluorescence recovery techniques, and machine learning-enhanced spectroscopy, leading to multiple patent applications and nine peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals including the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Analytical Chemistry, and Journal of Controlled Release. At Boehringer Ingelheim, he applies his skills in statistical analysis, image-based machine learning, and process analytical technology to enhance drug development processes, particularly for new chemical entities, peptides, and advanced therapy medicinal products, with specialized experience in long-acting injectable and intravitreal injection formulations.
