Anoushka Bhat is a Ph.D. student in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Amarillo, TX. She works in Dr. Nadezhda German’s laboratory as a medicinal chemist, exploring urea-based small molecules as potential soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) inhibitors for the treatment of neuroinflammatory diseases and cancer. Motivated by her interest in addressing scientific challenges, she introduced molecular biology techniques into her chemistry laboratory and successfully integrated them into her Ph.D. research. Beyond her academic pursuits, Anoushka is actively involved in volunteer organizations such as the American Cancer Society (ACS) CARES program and BSA Hospice, and she also teaches chemistry online to underprivileged students in India. Her long-term goal is to become a drug discovery scientist dedicated to advancing therapeutics for unmet medical needs.
