Dr. Jim Shen is the Executive Director and Head of Regulated Bioanalysis Operations in the Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacometrics, Disposition & Bioanalysis (CPPDB) department at Bristol-Myers Squibb. He earned his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Arizona and his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin under the mentorship of Professor Jennifer Brodbelt.
With over twenty-five years of experience, Dr. Shen has held several leadership positions in the global life sciences industry. He is a senior leader with extensive expertise in managing regulated bioanalytical operations, GLP-compliant laboratories, and bioanalytical outsourcing processes. His career includes tenures at leading pharmaceutical companies such as Schering Plough, Merck, and BMS, where he has led regulated bioanalysis operations.
Dr. Shen is a recognized speaker at industry forums and maintains deep connections within the regulated bioanalysis community. He has contributed to organizations such as AAPS, ASMS, CPSA, EAS, and ACS. Currently, Dr. Shen serves as the Vice Chair for the AAPS Bioanalytical Community and is the Chair for the AAPS ADC Bioanalysis Working Group. Additionally, he is a prolific writer, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
